Brooke Gabrielson was born and raised on a vineyard in Fresno, California. He graduated from Sanger High School, following which he received his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in a dual major of psychology and journalism from the University of Southern California in 1965. Brooke received his Juris Doctor's Degree from the Law School at the University of Southern California in 1968. Brooke then attended and graduated with a Master's Degree in Tax Law from New York University in 1969. He specializes in Real Estate and Tax Law.

Brooke has been an instructor in Real Estate and Tax Law at Orange Coast, Goldenwest and Coastline Community Colleges, the University of California at Irvine and the University of Southern California. For approximately ten years, Brooke spent half of his time giving all day (8-hour) seminars throughout California and the West Coast on Real Estate and Tax Planning.

Brooke has authored the following texts: Taxation and Exchanges, Real Estate Financing and Foreclosures, "Reaganomics"- The Economic Recovery Tax Act, Real Estate Tax Law Updates, Deferral of Gain- The Law and Tax Planning Strategies, Income Taxation of Real Estate, Tax-Deferred Exchanges and Summaries of Revenue Tax Acts.

Brooke formed the first "accomodator" for use in tax-deferred exchanges in 1977. That entity remained the only exchange accomodator in existence in the United States until the early 1980's. Much of Brooke's work continues to be in the area of Section 1031 exchanges.

Brooke has been a licensed California Real Estate Broker for over thirty years. He has been a speaker at numerous professional groups, including Bar Associations, Realty Boards, Accounting, Appraisers' and Escrow Associations, real estate brokerage firms and investor groups.

Brooke has an interesting commute to work, in that he lives in Carmel, California, flies down to the firm's Newport Beach office early Monday morning and flies home late afternoon on Thursday. He is, however, available by telephone, fax and e-mail on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, if the client's need arises.

Brooke is a serious collector of photographs and photographic equipment and is the owner of Willem Photographic, a photo gallery located in Monterey, California.
